CorrConnect is an online resource of the DoD Office of Corrosion Policy and Oversight that hosts corrosion outreach content, e-learning course modules, corrosion games, and training simulators. The content featured in the website are authored and vetted by technical experts in cathodic protection, industrial coatings, chemical engineering, materials engineering, and program management that are translated into engaging videos, animations and other educational elements.
Corrosion simulators are also available as a training resource that combine game principles with real-life data and statistics that allow users to control multiple variables in various situations that are applicable to real-life, industry training and decision-making. It also serves as a go-to website for corrosion events and CPO-related activities and outreach materials.
CorrDefense V2 (previously referred to as CRWT for “Corrosion Research Web Tools Consolidation”) merges the functionality and content of the disparate management web tools of OUSD AT&L CPO into a single, integrated, comprehensive, open, secure, standards-compliant, metrics-friendly, navigation-intuitive, and elegant website.
It establishes a single web-based site focused on corrosion science and technology activities that are uniquely and directly of interest to the military departments in their effort to sustain aging infrastructure and weapon systems, as well as the facilitation of early implementation of materials science technology in acquisitions. It also establishes early enhanced relationships with the corrosion research, and science and technology community at large (consisting of Industry, Academia, and Allied Nations) to ensure beneficial impact is demonstrated towards all initiatives, unified through a singular internet-based application.
SDSV2 (Fleet Marine Warfare Simulation System)
The Fleet Marine Warfare Simulation System is a battle staff training tool aimed to automate the steps of the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) for operational planning. It is a tool designed to train Decision Makers on how to plan and execute missions in order to accomplish military objectives through both individual and collaborative learning.
The SDSv2 comes with the ability to customize content and scenario for various missions and uses technology advancements in multimedia content, collaborative communication, and training simulation. The system is feature-rich, portable, web-based and it has the capability for Local Area Network (LAN) and intranet networkability.
Free College is a learning management system that aggregates courses created by the world's leading Universities such as MIT, Yale, University of California-Berkeley and University of California-Irvine. The courses are organized into a course of study equivalent to the courses that a student would need to take at the mentioned institutions to gain an undergraduate degree.
Free College provides a full curriculum of courses covering undergraduate Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Through lecture videos and ancillary materials, anyone in the world can effectively sit alongside MIT, Yale, UC Berkeley and UC Irvine students and view complete undergraduate core and elective course lectures delivered by top faculty members.
